Our staff in Manchester recently teamed up with Rainbow Day Nursery to surprise children with an interactive storytelling session at our nearby Albion Lock development in Sandbach.

Pupils from the nursery visited the development on Thursday 1st December for a fun-filled storytelling session, led by renowned children’s author Rachael Lindsay.

Kim Russell, manager at Rainbow Day Nursery, says: “The children had a fantastic time listening to all the stories. It was great to see them ask lots of questions and get so involved with the interactive games.

“We are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey and Rachael for helping us encourage the joy of reading. The stories were brilliant and the children loved the basket of characters to go alongside them.

“We all had a great day, and look forward to working with Taylor Wimpey again soon.”

Having previously been a teacher, Rachael is dedicated to inspiring children to enjoy literature. Some of her bestsellers include The Warrior Troll and The Bogler’s Apprentice.

Rachael comments: “The day was a huge success and the children fell in love with all of the characters and stories. I would like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey and look forward to working with them again.”

In addition to the storytelling session, we have supported several initiatives to encourage reading, including partnering up with local schools for the annual World Book Day celebrations.

Chloe Dunn, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, explains: “It was wonderful to see all the children get so excited listening to Rachael read out some terrific extracts from her books.

“We strongly believe it is important to focus on reading from a young age, and judging by the smiles on their faces, the children thoroughly enjoyed helping us transform the development into a room filled with exciting characters from Rachael’s books.”

Our Albion Lock development features a stunning range of three and four‑bedroom homes.
