Our East Midlands team has donated £500 to Feed the Need Coalville, a volunteer group which provides vital food, information and supplies to members of the community, most recently those hit hardest by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Feed the Need Coalville is committed to improving the lives of disadvantaged individuals and families living in Coalville and the surrounding areas. As demand for services continues to rise, the food bank plans to put the £500 donation towards ensuring that no one in the local area is short of basic essentials.
Felicity Middleton, Chair of Feed the Need Coalville, said: “Our food bank relies heavily on the support of the public and our volunteers, so we are delighted to receive such a generous donation from Taylor Wimpey. We’ll put this towards helping those that are the most vulnerable and facing food poverty in the surrounding area.
“£500 will enable us to buy fresh produce, such as milk, bread and eggs, as well as baby milk which has to be bought specially for each infant. Those who need to use food banks often have diets that are nutritionally deficient and it is particularly important that children have access to these items.”
Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, commented: “The work that food banks do across the country is invaluable. Feed the Need Coalville is helping members of our community who are struggling to afford basic essentials, and it means a great deal to us that we can assist such a worthy cause. We are committed to giving something back to the local areas in which we are building and in such difficult times, this is more important than ever.”
