Our South Midlands team has teamed up with the Lakeview Lodge Care Home in Bletchley, Milton Keynes to provide a pen pal initiative for the residents at the care home.
The initiative is part of our commitment to supporting the communities in which they work during the COVID-19 crisis, particularly for those who are unable to have visits from family and friends.
Ten of our South Midlands sales executives volunteered to take part and have been writing to the residents throughout the pandemic. They have been letting each other know about their hobbies and interests, and how they have been spending their time during lockdown.
Clare Hedge, Home Manager at Lakeview Lodge said, “We are very thankful to the Taylor Wimpey staff for volunteering their time to write letters to our residents. Many of our residents haven’t been able to see their family and friends for many months, so having a pen pal has certainly lifted their spirits.”
The South Midlands team also donated a number of protective face masks, gloves, disposable protective aprons, as well as puzzles, board games and books to Lakeview Lodge Care Home and Burlington Court Care Home in Northampton.
Fiona Lloyd, Sales & Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, says: “Our care workers do an amazing job and we want to play our part in supporting them in any way we can. From all of us at Taylor Wimpey, thank you to everyone at Lakeview Lodge Care Home and Burlington Court Care Home for the fantastic work you do every single day.”
