Youngsters from Pelsall Villa Colts’ Under 9s football team will be sporting new kit after a donation from Taylor Wimpey.

We gave the club £300 to purchase new versions of its black and red strip for its nine Under 9s team players.

The club is based at Pelsall Cricket and Sports Club in Walsall Road, just over a mile from our Saddlers Brook development in Walsall.

Team manager Tom Farnell says: “The whole team would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for this generous donation, as it will mean a full new kit – shirts, shorts and socks – for every player, plus one extra kit in case we sign anyone new.

“The players have had their current kit for about two-and-a-half years, so it did need replacing – they’re really pleased.

“They train on Tuesday evenings and play their matches on Sunday mornings, so the new kits will certainly be getting a lot of use.”

Pelsall Villa Colts FC have 16 teams, ranging from Under 6s through to Under 21s and Veterans. The teams play in the Walsall Junior Youth Football League, the Bilston Partnership Youth League and the Lichfield and District Recreational League.

Elaine Taylor, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a local housebuilder, we are committed to supporting the communities which we build in, so we were only too pleased to fund some new kit for the Pelsall Villa Colts Under 9s team.

“I wish the team all the best for the rest of the football season – and I hope their new kit gives them a competitive edge on the pitch.”
