Our South Thames business unit has lent its support to Kings Head Cricket Club (KHCC) in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire, by providing a £250 cash boost towards their annual fundraising efforts.
Every year the club raises money for a local cause with the aim of handing over a minimum of £1,000 per season. This year they are supporting Thames Hospice, a charity which provides expert nursing, medical care and emotional and practical support for terminally-ill patients and their loved ones in South Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire.
Daniel Rowe, captain at Kings Head Cricket Club, says: “Over the years we have handed over thousands of pounds to worthwhile causes through our fundraising efforts and we are always grateful for the support we receive from the local community.
“Taylor Wimpey’s £250 donation is such a generous contribution. We always try and raise at least £1,000 for our chosen charities so to receive a quarter of that target straight away is just brilliant!
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their support – Thames Hospice is a very worthy organisation which will benefit greatly from this money.”
Kings Head Cricket Club was founded in 1980 by the Little Marlow pub locals, playing friendly games against other local establishments.
In recent seasons the members have raised money for various causes included Oli’s First Steps, The Marlow Cottage Hospital, The Thames Valley Air Ambulance and The Thames Valley Adventure playground.
Susan Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, says: “We think it’s absolutely fantastic that Kings Head Cricket Club chooses to raise money for so many wonderful charities and organisations in the local community.
“Our £250 donation is our way of supporting the club’s fundraising efforts and we hope it goes a long way to helping Thames Hospice.”
Our South Thames team is building high-quality homes at nearby Forest Grove at Pine Trees, which currently has a choice of three and four‑bedroom homes available.
