Platt Lane City Junior Football Club’s under 11s team will be starting the season in a brand-new kit after scoring a donation from our Manchester team.
The team, which trains just a short distance from the region’s Arnfield Woods development, has been promoted four divisions in just two short seasons and currently plays in the East Manchester Junior Football league.
Tracy Walsh, coach of the under 11s team, explains: “The team trains so hard and have progressed so far in just a few seasons. They’re a really dedicated squad as are their parents, who cheer them on at every practice and match"
“This donation from Taylor Wimpey will make such a big difference to the players and parents. They all look very smart in their new kits and are excited to take on the season. We’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey and invite those that live at Arnfield Woods to come down and cheer the team on at their next match.”
Taylor Wimpey Manchester still has a wonderful selection of one- to four-bedroom homes available at its Arnfield Woods development. Excellently located for rail and road access into Manchester City Centre, commuters can reach Manchester Piccadilly in just six minutes from the nearest station, Guide Bridge.
Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, comments: “Having been on site at Arnfield Woods for more than a year, we’ve really gotten to know the community and know what a big part club like Platt Lane City JFC play in the area.
“We’re happy to support any initiative that keeps children active and teaches them the importance of teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship, so sponsoring the team was an easy decision. We’d like to wish them the best of luck with the season and will be keeping a keen eye on their progress.”
