Children at Wootton Bassett Infants School can make the most of their break time after a donation from Taylor Wimpey helped to fund new outdoor play equipment.
The pupils can now enjoy a look-out tower with ladders and a sandpit, a play store shed, a ‘jungle’ with tiered stages which will be used at playtime and for drama lessons, and water play equipment for the younger children.
The leading housebuilder, which is building high-quality new homes at its nearby Jubilee Park development in Wootton Bassett, donated £500 towards the cost of the play facilities.
Headteacher Mark Hazzard says: “We had very limited play equipment before, but when you have 100 children running around the playground, they need things to do.
“We try to encourage creative play here and these facilities will be used not just at playtime but also during lessons.
“We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their donation. The children are very excited about their new playground and will very much enjoy reaping the benefits.”
Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a local housebuilder, we are committed to helping the communities in which we build our new homes and this is a great example of the way we can make a difference.
“We’re delighted to be able to help the children at Wootton Bassett Infants School make the most of their playtime and hope they will get many years of enjoyment from their new playground equipment.”
There is a range of properties currently available to buy at Jubilee Park, including a two-bedroom coach house from £155,000, three-bedroom houses starting from £215,000 and four-bedroom homes from as little as £260,000.
