We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Durham Lane Primary School, in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, for its 2016/2017 environmental programme.

Our North Yorkshire business unit has provided a donation of £750, which will be put towards the creation of a bird-feeding station, a brand new wild life area, and the enhancement of the school’s pond.

Rebecca Guest, who helps run the school’s Eco Club, says: “Understanding and learning about nature is a vital part of a child’s education, and we are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this incredible support.

“The donation will make such a huge impact to the school’s eco facilities and we cannot wait for the children to see the finished projects.”

Durham Lane Primary School prides itself on the success of its Eco Club, which now boasts over 23 members. The club encourages the children to care for their school and local environment, as well as do their bit for the wider community.

Debbie Whittingham, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, explains: “It’s wonderful to see young children interact more with nature and wildlife, so we were thrilled to be able to offer our support on such a fantastic project.

“It’s great to hear the pupils are so excited about the new additions to the school, and we look forward to working with Durham Lane Primary on more of their eco initiatives in the future.”

Rebecca concludes: “On behalf of everyone at Durham Lane Primary School I would like to thank Taylor Wimpey.”

The school is based just a short distance from our Sadlers View development in Eaglescliffe, which currently features a range of three and four-bedroom homes.
