Pupils from a primary school in Dunfermline have been given an exciting opportunity to see the new homes that are under construction at our Masterton Gardens development in the town, as part of their ‘Learning about my Community’ project.
Youngsters from the Primary Four class from Masterton Primary School asked if they could explore our development to learn all about how a house is built, look at various stages of construction and take the opportunity to visit a showhome.
Our team in Dunfermline were more than happy to facilitate the visit and found the children to be very enthusiastic with lots of interesting and well-informed questions.
Graham Spence, Site Manager at Masterton Gardens, says: “I was delighted to be able to welcome the pupils from Masterton Primary School along to the development for an exciting insight into the build process of a Taylor Wimpey home.
“I was very impressed by how much the children already knew about building a new home, and from the questions they asked it’s clear they’re very interested in learning more about their community, and how companies like ours help to create the homes that we live in. I also hope that we’ve inspired a few of the youngsters to consider the housebuilding industry in the future.
“Whilst the children were at the development, I took the opportunity to remind them never to play near a building site and that a school visit was extra-special because normally there are no children allowed near any construction. Never playing near a construction site is a message that we’re keen to reinforce to the wider local community.”
Class teacher Kristina Beck, says: “Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Taylor Wimpey’s Masterton Gardens, asking lots of questions and learning about the building process. They really enjoyed seeing the different stages that it takes to build a new house in real life, and we know they absolutely loved the showhomes!
“Our visit to the development has been a great way to bring our ‘Learning about my Community’ project to life. The added reminder about never playing near a construction site was also really valuable.”
There’s currently a choice of four-bedroom houses on sale at Masterton Gardens.
