Our North Midlands team has awarded £500 to a small volunteer group, Branston Friends, helping them to keep up their good work within these unprecedented times and bringing them closer to their fundraising goals for 2020.
Throughout February, residents were encouraged to take part in the This Year appeal by nominating local good causes, organisations and individuals that deserve extra recognition for the work they do. After careful consideration, Branston Friends was crowned the lucky winner.
The volunteer group plan to spend the £500 donation on a variety of improvements to the area, such as community floral displays. The hope is that by working with local authorities and other community groups, these updates will ensure Branston continues to be a thriving and wonderful place to live.
Pat Palmer, group spokesperson, said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Taylor Wimpey for this huge boost to our funds. This means so much to a small group like us, as we now know we will be able to continue the work we had planned and bring the community back together for positive activities when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.”
Carl Cooke, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, said: “We are delighted to announce that Branston Friends are the winners of our This Year appeal. The campaign has brought to light how many good causes there are in the area and now, more than ever, we want to offer our support and help them with the important work they continue to do.”
