Our East London team helped Walton residents enjoy a summer of fun-filled events with donations towards Walton Classic Vehicle Show and Tendring’s Got Talent.
Tendring’s Got Talent took place on the 17th of August, and allowed local residents the chance to display their passions to the community as well as fundraise for great causes. The winner, Liam Burgess, 19, impressed the judges with a rendition of ‘Stars’ from Les Misérables. The Classic Vehicle Show then came to Walton on 7th September, bringing a collection of historic cars, vans and motorcycles to the coastal town.
We donated £300 towards the events, which both display all that the town has to offer in terms of local talent and international motor heritage. As well as providing prize money, our donation helped the organisers raise money towards a range of charities including Make-A-Wish, FamilyFund and The Brompton Fountain.
Maria Eastwood, organiser of both events, said: “We’re so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for these kind donations towards two of our summer events here in Walton. Tendring’s Got Talent was a huge success, granting exposure to local talent around the Walton area with a prize of £100 for our winner, Liam Burgess."
“Beyond this, Walton’s Classic Vehicle Show is always a huge hit when it rolls around on the town’s social calendar, and gives those who are passionate about vintage cars the chance to showcase their pride and joy to the people of Walton. Both events rely heavily on the generosity of our sponsors, so we were delighted when we were approached by Taylor Wimpey.”
Michael O’Leary, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East London, said: “We’re really proud to sponsor such key events in Walton’s local calendar. Both events provided the opportunity for local residents to demonstrate everything that they’re proud of and to shout about their talents. What’s more, we’re delighted to have helped both events raise some money for some great causes.“
