We’ve introduced a new initiative aimed at educating Wakefield children on the importance of health and safety in the home.
North Featherstone Junior and Infant School – which is just minutes away from our upcoming Colliers Court development – is the first school to benefit from a safety presentation.
Keith Chester, Site Administrator at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, explains: “With our Colliers Court development located nearby several schools, we were keen to kick-start this initiative to assess and eliminate potential risk factors for the local community.
“We have produced a 45-minute presentation including a short film about the dangers encountered when three children find themselves on a construction site. We also look at safety in the home – including the garage, under the kitchen sink and chemicals.”
The presentation is aimed at children between the ages of seven and 11, and pupils at schools across Wakefield will have the opportunity of dressing up in personal protection equipment.
Keith adds: “We are hoping this partnership between Taylor Wimpey and North Featherstone Junior and Infant School will be the first of many across Wakefield. It also highlights the teachers’ dedication to ensuring children are safe both in and out of school, and we’re really grateful they’ve all got on board.”
Colliers Court, located on Pontefract Road in Featherstone, will offer a modern collection of three and four-bedroom homes.
