Children learned a valuable lesson about playing safely during a special visit to Heath Meadows, Taylor Wimpey’s development of new homes for sale in Leighton Buzzard.
Youngsters from St George’s Lower School visited the collection of apartments and houses in Leighton Buzzard on Wednesday 11th July and met Senior Projects Manager Paul Archer who talked about the hazards of playing on or near building sites.
They were told about the many different ways in which they could be hurt if they were tempted to use the development of properties in Leighton Buzzard as a playground – by falling scaffolding, bricks or pipes, by sharp metal or glass hidden in piles of sand, or by moving vehicles.
And the serious message was rounded off with a series of fun, safety-related activities before the children were invited to take part in a poster competition, with the winning entry to be displayed in the Sales Centre at the development of new houses and apartments in Leighton Buzzard.
Paul said: “At Taylor Wimpey, we take our safety responsibilities very seriously – not just by looking after our site staff during working hours but also by reaching out to the wider community.
“Children are naturally curious about the things going on around them and building sites probably look like fun and exciting places to play, but the reality is they are anything but.
“We hope that by explaining the dangers of playing on or near building sites in a way youngsters can easily understand, we can take away that temptation and prevent them from coming to harm.”
Taylor Wimpey’s Heath Meadows development of brand new homes is less than half a mile from St George’s Lower School.
The leading housebuilder has previously helped the school by transforming a large area of the school grounds into a new garden area, building a raised bed for growing plants, flowers and vegetables and installing an attractive fence to make the area safe for the children.
There’s currently a superb selection of homes available at Heath Meadows, including stylish two-bedroom apartments priced from just £127,500 and spacious four-bedroom townhouses from only £199,950.
