Scalby Sports Association, in Scarborough, has been bowled over by a £500 donation from our North Yorkshire team. The cash boost will go towards the cost of renovating its pavilion, on Carr Lane, which has been the home to Scalby Football and Cricket Club since 1999. The face lift will also help to upgrade the underground drainage system and user-friendly accessibility for visitors.

Jon Barton, Scalby Cricket Club treasurer and chairman of Scalby Sports Association, commented: “We’re one of Scarborough’s oldest clubs and have a rich history in both sports. Today, we have seven football and cricket teams who all share and depend on our facilities. We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for its helpful donation. Its generosity has been instrumental in helping us to extend our offering to current and future players.”

Anne Bagshaw, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, added: “Scalby Sports Association is close to our High Mill development and we feel compelled to help. This sporting club plays a pivotal role in providing fitness and social opportunities to many local residents, so we’re proud to back this fantastic organisation.”

Jon concludes: “It is great to see Taylor Wimpey support the Scarborough community and help us raise funds for our beloved pavilion.”
