Date: Monday 10 October 2011

Taylor Wimpey is proud to announce that 15 year old Sophii Negus from Ashcott in Somerset is their future star of Glastonbury.

The house builder, who is currently selling three and four bedroom homes at Dunstan Park in Glastonbury, launched a competition back in May to find the future star of Glastonbury. With entries piling in from across the county, the judges from Orchard Recording Studios had a tough time choosing the winner.

James Wilkes, owner of Orchard Recording Studio’s said: “Sophii stood out from the crowd with her creative song writing skills. She had written her own songs and she has a great voice. She is extremely talented for someone so young and we’re sure she will have a long music career.”

The winning prize was 12 hours in Orchard Recording Studio with an engineer, which includes recording, editing, mixing, production, plus a 3-hour pre – production session in the rehearsal studio.

Sophii, who has been enjoying music since she was seven, was thrilled that she won. “I am absolutely delighted that I was chosen as the winner. My dad saw the competition in the paper and urged me to enter. I started singing about two years ago and I’ve not stopped since.

“I have raised over £750 for various charities close to my heart through singing, so it’s nice that I will be able to spend a day in the recording studio and work on my music. I love listening to different artists and one day I dream of singing on a big stage in front of crowds of people. I know that if I keep working hard, that hopefully one day I will get there.”

Offering the best of both worlds, Dunstan Park is surrounded by the peace and tranquillity of the countryside but within easy reach of Glastonbury and beyond. The development has homes on offer for every type of purchaser, from starter homes through to spacious four-bedroom homes. Prices start at £144,995.
