Organisers of a primary school’s annual summer celebration in Bury St Edmunds have been delighted with the turnout at this year’s event – thanks to a little help from us.

Our East Anglia team, which has been based in the Suffolk town for many years, donated £300 towards the Abbots Green Community Primary School Summer Fayre, which took place on Saturday 9th July.

Our contribution to the fundraising event included the top raffle prize – £100 in cash – and also helped event organisers, the Friends of Abbots Green, to cover the costs of producing the Summer Fayre brochure.

Nic Hubbard, Business Development Manager at Abbots Green Community Primary School, says: “Both the Headteacher, Mrs Heidi Franklin, and the Friends of Abbots Green are hugely appreciative of Taylor Wimpey’s donation. It really is extremely generous of the business to provide financial support for this event.

“As well as providing the top raffle prize, the donation from Taylor Wimpey was used to sponsor the brochure for the event – and this contribution enabled the Friends to create a really professional design and produce more copies of the brochure, which helped the event to raise maximum funds.

“It is wonderful to know that such a large residential developer with premises local to the school are supporting us in this way, and in turn supporting the children of Abbots Green. We all greatly enjoyed this year’s fayre!”

The Friends of Abbots Green are a group of parents and school supporters who offer their time to raise funds to subsidise memorable activities and opportunities for pupils, as well as new equipment to support their learning.

Other local businesses have also shown their support for the Summer Fayre by donating additional prizes for the raffle.

Mrs Hubbard adds: “The Friends of Abbots Green work exceptionally hard to organise their fundraising events, but they also rely on the generosity and support of local businesses to ensure that the events are even more attractive to the public, enhancing the experience for all.”

Caroline Carter, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, says: “As a local housebuilder based in Bury St Edmunds, we are always keen to show support for our community in any way we can – and we were delighted to be able to help the Friends of Abbots Green by sponsoring this year’s Summer Fayre. We hope everyone had a fantastic time!”
