Sessay Bowls Club will be keeping their grounds smart thanks to the delivery of a brand new lawnmower and mobile sprayer, which will be used to maintain their green. The equipment was purchased thanks to a grant from the local authority and a £500 donation from our North Yorkshire team.
Pat Bee, chairman of Sessay Bowls Club, commented: “Our existing lawnmower was 23 years old and frequently needed expensive repairs, so it desperately needed replacing. All maintenance at the club is undertaken by our dedicated volunteers at our own expense and the new equipment has cost around £2,500, so Taylor Wimpey’s donation has been a fantastic help.”
Sessay Bowls Club is a small village organisation that has been running for over 40 years, participating in three area leagues and competing in 70 competitive matches per season.
Debbie Whittingham, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “Sessay Bowls Club is situated in the heart of Sessay Village and its green forms a focal point for locals. With our nearby Thurstan Park development now open, we understand just how important it is that we help the club out with the cost of maintaining the grounds, thus keeping the area a desirable place to live for everyone when the gates open. We look forward to seeing the green looking its best in the coming months and the good luck it will surely bring the club’s members.”
