Our Yorkshire business unit has donated £1,000 to support Yorkshire-based ladies showjumping first team as they saddled up for the national British Showjumping finals in Stoneleigh.

The team came second in the qualifier at Allerton Park in early 2015, before competing in the final in October 2015. Our contribution helped fund the team’s entry fees at the finals, as well as providing horse numnahs, for underneath the saddle, and individual jackets for the team embroidered with the Taylor Wimpey logo and the competitor’s name.

Theresa Leesley, British Showjumping Area 16 representative, says: “Competing at national level is a fantastic achievement for our team, but it doesn’t come cheap. Thanks to Taylor Wimpey, the pressures and costs of reaching this stage were lifted and we were able to sail through to Stoneleigh!

“One of our team members changed the dates of her family holiday to Turkey two days before they were due to fly out because the finals were on the same day as the flight. She still had time to relax on the Turkish beaches but not before she competed in the national finals – now that’s dedication.”

The team, which includes Georgina Oakley, Kathryn Thomas, Judy Blackmore and Lizzie Wright, was selected by British Showjumping South and West Yorkshire committee, in their pursuit to bring home a rosette.

Anne Bagshaw, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, says: “Showjumping is a fantastic spectators’ sport, and the BS Area 16 ladies first team are a great example of how far commitment and love for a sport can take you.

“We are proud to support local communities near to our developments, and with The Banks in Rotherham close to where the team trains, we jumped at the chance to lend a helping hand.”

Theresa concludes: “We are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this sponsorship. Having the support of such a renowned business is fantastic – the team continues to wear the branded jackets and numnahs at showjumping events even after the finals.”

There’s a superb selection of three and four-bedroom properties currently available at The Banks.
