We have been unveiled as the new sponsor of Eastleigh Rugby Football Club in Hampshire.
The deal will bring £7,000 to the club, which will be spent on subsidising senior players’ kit. The club, which is based at The Hub in Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh, has more than 100 players in its four senior teams.
Glenn Lawrence, Marketing and Sponsorship Secretary at Eastleigh RFC, says: “We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for supporting us by becoming our new sponsors.
“The deal means we will be able to reduce the cost our players pay for their kit. This will be a great to help to us as the cost of playing sport can build up and can be prohibitive so, by subsidising their kit, we are more likely to retain players.”
The sponsorship deal was announced at a fun day on Saturday 21st June, which was held to celebrate the club being voted the overall national winner in the Natwest Pride of the Nation competition.
Their prize included funding for playing equipment and a visit from former England international Phil Vickery, who took part in a question and answer session at the club on the fun day.
Eastleigh RFC was founded around 80 years ago and its senior teams play in the London 3 South-West Division. The club also has a thriving colts and juniors set-up.
Fiona Creed, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey. says: “As a local housebuilder, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build, so we were only too pleased to offer our support to Eastleigh Rugby Club.
“I hope that the funding from the deal helps to give the club a big boost and we wish them the very best of luck out on the pitch when the new season begins.”
