We were able to spread some festive joy at a Buckinghamshire primary school and help raise much-needed funds for school equipment!

Youngsters at St Mary‘s C of E Primary School in Wavendon, Milton Keynes, got an early Christmas present on Friday 4th December after our South Midlands team kindly donated 130 chocolate selection boxes as presents for a Santa’s Grotto at the school’s annual Christmas Fair.

The event is organised by the Friends of St Mary’s School, made up of parents of school children who volunteer their time for free to support the school.

St Mary’s has just under 100 pupils ranging from Reception stage to Year 6 and, due to its size, often finds it hard to raise funds.

Jennie Smith, a Buying Administrator for the South Midlands business unit and who also volunteers her time at the school, explains: “As it is a small school, raising money can be difficult so any donations are gratefully received.

“Taylor Wimpey South Midlands this year offered to cover the cost of the selection boxes, at the cost of £1 each, that we purchase for all the school children as their gift from Father Christmas.

“The fair managed to raise more than £500 this year – and this was largely due to the generous contribution from Taylor Wimpey South Midlands!”

The money will be going towards the school’s fundraising drives for a new set of football goals, new team T-shirts and new books for the library.
