As part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, our East London region has recently sponsored St Mary’s School in Bishop’s Stortford. The donation provided by the team has covered the cost of 85 tour kits for the football and netball teams.
This is the second time the business have supported the school, having donated £750 towards the netball tour to Holland in 2016.
The pupils have recently returned from a very successful five day tour. The netball teams visited Malta while the football teams went to Holland. This is the third year that St Mary’s School have organised the sports tours, which have proved a very popular and valuable experience for the pupils.
Commenting on the support it has received from Taylor Wimpey, Gemma Wilkinson, PE Teacher from St Mary’s School said: “The fact that our students looked smart and professional had a big impact on playing as a successful team. I would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for sponsoring us once again, we are extremely grateful for the support that we have received.”
Michael O’Leary, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East London said: “We were delighted to have been able to support St Mary’s School with a donation to cover the cost of the tour kit for the football and netball teams. The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations in the areas that we’re building means a great deal to us and it’s great to hear that the pupils played so well in their new kits.”
