Youngsters at Stoke Staff Community Boxing Club in the town of Hanley, Staffordshire, have scored a knock-out sponsorship deal with us.
Our North Midlands business unit, which is currently building high-quality homes at Mitchell Gardens in the nearby town of Kidsgrove, has donated £250 to the club to fund new training kits for its members.
The 33 members, who are aged between eight and 40, are now sporting brand new black and gold kits to match the club colours, adorned with the Taylor Wimpey logo!
Liz Buxton, secretary for Staff Stokes Community Boxing Club, says: “This donation from Taylor Wimpey is helping us to provide brand new training tops, gloves and boots for our members.
“Some of the kids who come to the club would struggle to pay for their own kits, so this donation is really helpful to us.”
The boxing club has been running for over 12 years and is based at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hanley.
Liz continues: “A lot of our members don’t have anything new so to have this support is absolutely brilliant – we’ve never had a sponsor before!
“Taylor Wimpey got in touch with us to offer their help and it’s really made a difference to everyone at the club, as before this they were wearing their own clothes to train. Now they all feel proud to represent the club, especially those competing in the upcoming AIBA World Boxing Championships.”
Carl Cooke, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, says: “We’re delighted to lend our support to Stoke Staffs Community Boxing Club and help its members feel proud to represent their club.
“We hope everyone really enjoys their new kit and wish them the best of luck with their upcoming competitions.”
There’s a superb choice of three-bedroom homes currently available at Mitchell Gardens.
