Students from Uckfield Community Technology College in East Sussex experienced a behind-the-scenes look at how a 21st century home is constructed during a special guided tour hosted by our South East team.
The college’s Year 10 students, who are taking BTEC Construction as one of their GCSE options, were invited to our Greenhill Grange development in Haywards Heath to gain an exclusive insight into the construction industry as they begin thinking about their future career paths.
The group were met by Site Manager Tony Donnelly and Sales Executive Richard Sweeting who showed them around the development, giving them the chance to witness every stage of construction and learn more about what it’s like to work on a building site.
The students also explored our stunning showhomes at Greenhill Grange, to see for themselves the final finished product!
Karen O’Riley, Careers Coordinator at Uckfield Community Technology College, says: “The visit to Greenhill Grange was a unique opportunity for our students to see the different trades on site and learn about what it’s like to work on a modern and conscientious construction site.
“Our students gained knowledge and learned about up-to-date construction methods, sustainability and site recycling – all of which will be very useful for their course.
“Everyone at Taylor Wimpey made us feel very welcome – I just hope we didn’t eat too many sweets!”
Jason Stokes, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, says: “Here at Taylor Wimpey we feel it’s vital to do everything we can to encourage the next generation to join the trade which is why we invited students from Uckfield Community Technology College to our Greenhill Grange development in Haywards Heath.
“We are so pleased to hear the students enjoyed their tour of Greenhill Grange and we hope they found the visit helpful – and that we’ve inspired some of them to consider construction for their future careers!”
There’s a superb range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes currently on sale at Greenhill Grange.
