Doncaster Taekwondo competitor, 13-year-old Zak Lambert, won silver in a European-wide competition, thanks to sponsorship from the Yorkshire regional team.

After winning gold in a competition earlier this year, Zak was invited to join Team GB. Our sponsorship was used to travel and train in Luxembourg ahead of the competition, from which he walked away with a silver medal.

Zak’s father Ross, comments: “From a young age, Zak has dedicated his time to becoming the best he can at Taekwondo and as parents, we’re thrilled to see him achieve his goal of competing with Team GB.

“The generous donation from Taylor Wimpey helped Zak to travel to Luxembourg to gain further training, along with purchasing a new suit for the competition.”

Sam Evans, head of sales at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, adds: “When we heard about how well Zak had done in securing a training place with Team GB and his dedication to the sport, we knew we had to throw our support his way.”

Zak recently visited local Taylor Wimpey development, Connect at Halfway, to meet with the team and thank them for their sponsorship.

Sam continues: “We’re always proud to help people living in the local communities we serve, and our focus is on how we can help local organisations and causes. Zak is a great example of someone making his hometown proud.”
