Tree Donation Brings Festive Spirit To Brackley

Date: Tuesday 17 December 2013

Brackley Christmas TreeA Christmas tree has taken pride of place outside the Town Hall in Brackley, Northamptonshire, this Christmas thanks to Taylor Wimpey East Midlands.

The leading housebuilder donated £100 to Brackley Town Council to cover the cost of the pretty fir tree, which is helping people get into the Christmas spirit as part of Brackley’s seasonal display.

The tree’s lights were switched on along with the rest of the town’s festive illuminations at a special event on Saturday 30th November, which included singing by a school choir and an appearance by local pantomime actors.

Linda Carter, Council Executive Officer at Brackley Town Council, says: “The tree looks fantastic and I’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for supporting Brackley by providing the sponsorship for it.

“The town is looking great – as well as the Christmas tree outside the Town Hall, we have 50 solar-powered trees on the lampposts all around the town square and the surrounding streets.”

Mariana Knight, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a local housebuilder, we are always keen to support the communities in which we build our high-quality new homes, so when Brackley Town Council approached us about sponsoring their Christmas tree, we were only too pleased to help.

“I hope seeing the tree all lit up makes everyone in the town feel festive in the run up to Christmas.”

Taylor Wimpey is set to unveil a new homes development in Brackley in 2014. Earls Manor will be the first phase of the mixed use development of over 900 homes at Radstone Fields, on the northern fringes of the town. In time, the development will include a new primary school, a local centre with community hall and public open space, including a country park.
