Children at St Martin’s C of E Primary School in Cranbrook, Devon, have been given an early gift after Taylor Wimpey provided a Christmas tree and decorations for the school hall.
This is the second year the leading housebuilder has stepped in to help the school with its festive decorations, and six lucky schoolchildren were chosen to help decorate it ready for the start of the Christmas season.
It will now be enjoyed by the school’s staff and pupils as well as members of the Cornerstone Church Cranbrook, which meets at the school.
Headteacher Tania Beard says: “This year’s Christmas tree is even bigger than last year – it reaches the ceiling – and the children absolutely love it. They were so excited when they came in on Monday morning and saw it all decorated.

“The tree was there for all of our Christingle services and for our nativity play, and will also be enjoyed by everyone who comes along to the church’s carol concert and midnight mass. We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their support.”
Janine Copleston, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “As a responsible housebuilder, we are about more than just delivering high-quality new homes and we are delighted to help St Martin’s Primary School by giving their Christmas season some real sparkle with this fantastic tree and decorations.”
