Hartlepool children and family support charity Headland Future has invested a further £500 in its mentoring service thanks to a donation from Taylor Wimpey North East.
Headland Future, which is near to our Headway development in Hartlepool, aims to provide a safe, stimulating environment for young people in the community.
Mark Coser, project co-ordinator at Headland Future, describes how vital donations of this type are to the running of the organisation.
He said: “The help we have received from Taylor Wimpey has been invaluable to our mentoring service. We offer every child up to two hours per week for a session with their own personal mentor, which helps them to develop their understanding of social life while also building self-esteem.
“In order to incentivise the children, we offer various rewards including gift vouchers and days out for activities like bowling and the cinema which ensures they have fun and most importantly stay safe.”
Hayley Stewart, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North East commented: “With our Headway development based right in the heart of Hartlepool we really wanted to give something back to the local community.
“Headland Future is a fantastic organisation which helps so many young people in the area and our money really couldn’t have gone to a better place. Their mentoring service truly is invaluable to some of the youngsters and we we’re thrilled to be offering our assistance.”
Mark concluded: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Taylor Wimpey for all of their support on behalf of all from Headland Future.”
