We gave a £1,000 boost to Didcot Town Fayre. The sponsorship money was used to help with running costs for the event, which took place in Edmonds Park on Saturday 19th July.
Attractions at the event included entertainment from an Egyptian dancing group, the Didcot Community Gospel Choir and The Grove and Didcot Gymnastics Club, a whole host of stalls, family games, and a dog show. There was also a hog roast, a barbecue, teas and a beer tent, plus a baking competition and a produce show staged by the New Road allotment holders.
The fayre, which is in its second year, ran throughout the afternoon into the early evening, when local bands entertained the crowds.
Mayor of Didcot, Cllr Scott Wilgrove, says: “We thank Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation, which meant all our costs were covered and the money we raised on the day could go towards making next year’s fayre even better.
“It was a real community day with lots of local clubs and organisations taking part to make it a fun afternoon for local families.”
Darren McCormack, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, says: “As a considerate, responsible housebuilder, we do much more than build high-quality new homes and we are committed to helping good causes in local communities. This is a great example of the way we can make a real difference.
“I would like to congratulate everybody who put in so much work into organising this year’s fayre, which was a fantastic day out for both old and newer residents here in Didcot and the surrounding area.”
We are currently building new homes at Great Western Park in Didcot.
