A high-flying Somerset rugby team has received a welcome boost after striking a sponsorship deal with Taylor Wimpey Bristol.
Keynsham Rugby Club’s U18/17s have enjoyed a superb season, finishing runners up in the league stage of the Gloucestershire development league, and reaching the latter stages of the Somerset cup.
With a new season due to start in November, the club was eager to replace the U18/17s’ well-worn kit with a brand new set of shirts and shorts, which is where we stepped in.
We are currently selling homes at The Meadows in Park Road, Keynsham, and also transforming the town’s former Cadbury factory in Cross Street into the mixed-use sustainable Somerdale development, which is coming soon.
Head Coach of Keynsham RFC’s U18/17s, Sam Williams, says: “Our rugby kits endure a tremendous amount of wear and tear during the season, and it can be a costly business to purchase new strips.
“We cannot thank Taylor Wimpey enough for this generous sponsorship deal, which means we have managed to save a significant amount of money.”
Charlie Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, says: “We are committed to supporting the communities in which we build our high-quality new homes, and this donation is an excellent example of the way we can help sports clubs and other local organisations.
“In addition to supporting Keynsham RFC, we will be investing in a raft of new sporting facilities at our eagerly anticipated Somerdale community, including the rebuilding of the Fry Club, which will include new changing rooms and a skittle alley, plus a new FA-standard floodlit football pitch, two new cricket pitches and 13 full-size and two junior football pitches.
“Everybody at Taylor Wimpey Bristol would like to wish the U18/17s at Keynsham RFC the very best of luck for the future – and hope they continue their excellent form next season!”
