We are thrilled to announce that we have donated £500 to the 1st Tarvin Scouts, allowing them to make much-needed improvements to their hut.
The local Beavers, Cubs and Brownies currently use the hut, with the group hoping to bring the Scouts back to the village in the coming months after a long absence. Unfortunately though, part of the building was recently deemed unusable and in desperate need of renovation.
Beaver leader Sandra Hill comments: “The decision to bring Scouting back to Tarvin has been very much welcomed by the whole community, and not only do we have a full Beaver colony and Cub group, but we also have very long waiting lists for each.
“In order to take Scouting forward and provide our children with a pleasant and safe environment in which to meet, we desperately needed to renovate and improve our hut, so we’re absolutely over the moon to have the support of Taylor Wimpey with this generous donation.”
The 1st Tarvin Scouts group is based at King George V Playing Fields in Tarvin, near our Saxon Heath development. The Scouting hut is currently used by more than 60 local children, with the number rapidly growing week-on-week.
Stuart Craig, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, explains: “The Scouts is an amazing organisation which teaches young people a number of invaluable life skills, so it’s great that it has made a long-awaited return to Tarvin.
“With our Saxon Heath development now taking shape in the heart of the village, we jumped at the chance to offer our support.”
Sandra concludes: “Taylor Wimpey’s help has been very much appreciated, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank them on behalf of 1st Tarvin Scouts.”
There’s a selection of three and four-bedroom homes currently available at Saxon Heath.
