Tarvin teenager Megan Latham is embarking on a dream Borneo volunteering expedition thanks to a donation from Taylor Wimpey.
14 year old Megan, who lives close to our Saxon Heath development, will be travelling to Borneo in the summer of 2015 to participate in community work and environmental projects, including reforesting areas of the jungle and wildlife conservation.
Megan said: “I have always loved helping people and preserving nature is something that is incredibly important to me; so when the opportunity to help out in Borneo came, I grabbed it with both hands.
“The trip will last four weeks so I am looking to raise as much money as possible by organising a number of different activities including a 20 mile sponsored hike and a Borneo Boogie – which will be a disco for local people at the community centre.”
Megan’s 20 mile sponsored hike is due to take place on Saturday 12th April and her Borneo Boogie on Saturday 3rd May.
Lynne Vogel, sales manager at Taylor Wimpey North West commented: “It’s great to see such a young person taking interest in preserving nature and protecting the environment, which is why when we heard about Megan’s expedition, we just had to help out.
“With our Saxon Heath development now taking shape in Tarvin, it’s great to get involved and support the local community.”
