As part of the donation box scheme which is running at its The Edge development in Brixton, our South Thames regional team has gifted £250 to Thames Reach; a charity who support men and women affected by homelessness. Visitors to the Sales Information Centre at The Edge are encouraged to vote for one of three local causes to receive a donation from the region and Thames Reach have been announced as the latest winners after receiving the most votes from the public.
Thames Reach provides a wide range of services to homeless people in Brixton and across London, and works directly with people who sleep rough and those who are vulnerable to becoming homeless. The charity also has a Peer Landlord London scheme, which offers affordable housing to formerly homeless people and helps individuals become more independent within a supportive environment. Thames Reach also run an Employment Academy that gives vulnerable people access to volunteering opportunities and training.
Commenting on Taylor Wimpey’s donation Catherine Hickey, Fundraising Manager at Thames Reach, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us, and to Taylor Wimpey for entering us in their donation box scheme. This donation will go towards supporting people to make real and lasting changes in their lives and help them move away from homelessness and lead a fulfilling life. ”
Louise Adams, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, said: “We are proud to have donated £250 to Thames Reach who play such an important role in helping the most vulnerable in the local community. We are committed to giving something back to the areas in which we are building and look forward to announcing the next winner of our donation box scheme soon.”
