We’ve lent a helping hand to Tredington Teddies Playgroup in Tredington, Gloucestershire, which is on a mission to raise £3,500 for new resources to enhance to children’s learning experience!
Our Bristol business unit – which is currently building new homes at Abode in Bishop’s Cleeve – has donated £300 to the playgroup to cover the cost of a brand new electronic tablet.
Rowena Tassell, chair of the Tredington Teddies Playgroup committee, says: “We’ve set ourselves the challenge of raising £3,500 to pay for new technology which we will use with the children as part of their learning.”
The playgroup is hoping to purchase four electronic tablets, two desktop computers, a camera and a CD/radio player, as well as providing staff training and educational resources, including Forest School Training which provides outdoor education for the youngsters.
“Taylor Wimpey is the first company to donate and the committee has also been organising a number of fundraising events that will hopefully help us reach our target,” continues Rowena.
“On behalf of everyone at Tredington Teddies Playgroup I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey, we are all really grateful for the support and it will make such a difference – if we achieve our fundraising goal by next year it will be amazing!”
Based in the grounds of Tredington Primary School near Tewkesbury, Tredington Teddies Playgroup opened its doors to the local community over 20 years ago to provide a high-quality learning environment for children aged two to five.
The group, rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, is a registered charity which hosts several fundraising events throughout the calendar year to cover its running costs.
Charlie Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, says: “We’re committed to supporting the communities in which we build our new homes, and our donation to Tredington Teddies Playgroup is a great example of how we do this.
“We hope the children enjoy their new tablet and would like to wish the committee all the best with their fundraising drive going forward.”
There’s currently a superb selection of three and four-bedroom homes available at Abode.
