Three youngsters won tickets for a great day out when they were named as winners in a ‘Design your dream garden’ poster competition which we ran.
We ran the competition as part of a day of events held to launch the new Community Centre at our Willow Lake development in Newton Leys, Buckinghamshire.
Seven-year-old George Bailey from Fenny Stratford drew a sunny garden scene for his competition entry. He chose a trip to Gulliver’s Land, a theme park near Milton Keynes, as his prize.
George’s mum, Angela Bailey, says: “George was very excited to win the competition, he calls himself an artist and he loves to draw.
“He went to Gulliver’s Land last summer and really enjoyed it, so he is really looking forward to visiting again.”
George was named as a joint winner with five-year-old Apple and her 10-year-old sister Anais. Apple and Anais have chosen a day out at Alton Towers for their prize.
Anais says: “Drawing my garden was fun and I was really happy to be chosen as a winner.”
The new community centre at Willow Lake is a hub for new residents and is available for community groups to use, as well as for private bookings for occasions such as children’s birthday parties.
The centre is just one of the many community and leisure facilities planned for the development, which has the tranquil Jubilee Lake at its heart and is surrounded by swathes of public open space.
