Our East Midlands business unit has stepped in to give Rushton Cricket Club in Northamptonshire a cutting edge for the new season by donating £500 to pay for repairs to its mower.
The donation comes after we sponsored the club £1,500 last year towards youth coaching and the cost of running the ground, in Station Road, Rushton, near Kettering.
Adam McAllister, Rushton Cricket Club committee member, says: “We had some severe mechanical issues with our ground cutting equipment and when Taylor Wimpey became aware of the problem they offered to help with the repair costs.
“We’ve been borrowing a mower for a while from another local club, so it’s great we’ve been able to get ours back.
“It makes a massive difference having support from a company like Taylor Wimpey. We rely heavily on support from local businesses and any donations really help.”
Nick Upex, Sales Manager for Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, says: “As a local housebuilder we are committed to supporting the communities in which we build new homes, so we are delighted to be able to help Rushton Cricket Club again.
“This is a great example of the way we can help local organisations, including sports clubs, continue the great work they do in the local community.”
There’s currently a range of four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Bluebelle at Priors Hall Park in the nearby town of Corby.
