A Charvil and Sonning Eye based church youth group will now have more opportunities for weekly activities, thanks to a £1,000 donation. The donation - which has been put towards a pool table - comes as part of our national Proud campaign, showing commitment to the communities in which we build our homes.
The youth group at St. Andrew’s Church works closely with two secondary and two primary schools in the parish. They help to encourage relationship building between pupils at the schools as well as fostering confidence and companionship through activities and get-togethers at the church during the week.
Chris West, Youth Minister at St. Andrew’s Church said: “We’re extremely grateful for this generous donation from Taylor Wimpey. Having an area where young people can get together in a youth club setting with resources such as games consoles, a smoothie bar and now a pool table has proven to be really successful in the parish. We’re excited to see where this year will lead with the youth group, with scope for larger projects thanks to kind donations such as this one.”
Nikki Gibson, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “It’s always a delight to hear that our work with local communities surrounding our developments is having such a positive impact. From encouraging positive relationships and co-operation, to creating safe places for young people to express themselves and have fun, youth engagement is important to us. We’re so pleased to be able to contribute to all of the hard work that is ongoing at St. Andrew’s.”
