As part of the donation box scheme which is running at its Beldam Bridge Gardens development in Surrey, our South Thames regional team has gifted £250 to Tringhams West End Centre, a charity for people aged 70 and older. Every month, visitors to the development Sales Information Centre in Woking are encouraged to choose from one of three local causes to receive a monetary donation from us and, after recently receiving the most votes, Tringhams West End Centre have been announced as the latest winner.
Tringhams West End Centre encourages older people to get out of the house and socialise through a variety of activities, and collects members from across West End, Bisley, Chobham, Lightwater and Windlesham to make sure everyone in the local community can get involved. The charity then provides sessions with home cooked food, quizzes, bingo, games, music and newspapers to read.
Commenting on Taylor Wimpey’s donation Laurence Cottis, Treasurer at Tringhams West End Centre, said: “We cannot thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their support. Our sessions allow elderly people to make new friends and enjoy some relaxing time together. It’s brilliant to see a large company like Taylor Wimpey only supporting small local groups like us and I would like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for this funding, which will go towards a summer outing that will most likely be a boat trip.”
Tina Chalk, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, said: “We are always delighted to offer support to the local communities in which we are building and our monthly donation box scheme is a great way for local people to tell us which causes they would like to see receive a donation from us. We have no doubt that Tringhams West End Centre will put our funding towards some of the great activities they offer.”
