Our London team has helped a Chelmsford-based school get into the Christmas spirit, with a £500 donation towards the running of their annual fundraiser.
Each year, Our Lady Immaculate Primary School Friends Association hosts a Christmas bazaar fundraiser where children and their families can take part in games, activities, raffles and prize draws ahead of the festive season. The bazaar was hosted remotely this year, with families being able to attend from the comfort of their homes.
With an online Christmas market for families to shop online while supporting local businesses, including a grand draw raffle and hamper raffle, the event was not short of activities. A cookbook was also contributed by the children and bought by families to raise additional funds. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards enhancing the learning of the pupils, with this year’s funds contributing to improving literacy resources within the school.
Lesley Roche, Headteacher at Our Lady Immaculate Primary School, said: “Now more than ever, it is important that our children have access not only to quality teaching, but also to a range of high-quality resources. Such resources will enable our children to thrive, and in doing so, make up for lost learning time in lockdown.
“At Our Lady Immaculate, literacy and written communication are crucial parts of the curriculum, so we’re delighted that the PTA have agreed to fund a new literacy programme for our pupils to help ensure they are working to the best of their ability.”
Alex Greaves, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey London, said: “The opportunity to support vital learning for pupils in our communities was one we couldn’t pass up, especially when we can help the students and their families get festive in the process. This year has been tough on us all, and we’re very proud to be able to support Our Lady Immaculate School during these challenging times.”
