We give a lesson in safety to local school children in Kilmarnocking
Our West Scotland team gave the local children of Hillhead Primary School in Kilmarnock some reminders about health and safety as production at our development of new homes at Walker’s Gate in Kilmarnock progresses.
We visited the school a few years ago, but with construction continuing for a further phase of new homes in the very near future, we were keen to remind the children of the dangers associated with playing near any construction site and raise awareness of the need to be extra vigilant.
Being proactive with local schools has proven an effective deterrent in the past, as our Production Director Brian Henderson explains: “Health and safety in and around our construction areas is of vital importance to Taylor Wimpey, and taking this type of proactive approach with local schools allows us to reinforce just how important it is for children to stay away from building sites, as well as to remind the children that building sites are not playgrounds!”
Louise Muir, Acting Deputy Head Teacher at Hillhead Primary School, adds: “I was delighted to welcome Taylor Wimpey back into our school to highlight the dangers associated with children playing near any construction site. It is particularly helpful for the team to reinforce their safety message ahead of the school summer holidays when many of our pupils will be enjoying a break from the classroom.
“It’s great that Taylor Wimpey West Scotland understands the importance of our children’s safety, and has created such an interactive and proactive approach to appeal to our pupils.”
