We help Chawson First School celebrate reading with book donation

Date: Wednesday 08 May 2019

Children at Chawson First School in Droitwich are enjoying reading a collection of new books thanks to a donation from our West Midlands team. We donated £100 in book vouchers, 90 of our How We Build Your Home books and 10 of our Milly Mortar and Handy Andy mini mascot dolls.

The aim of the donation is to encourage children in Years 1 and 2 to read more whilst making it more fun and engaging. Mrs Sarah Webb, Year 2 teacher and Reading Coordinator at Chawson First School, said: “Reading is such an important life skill and something that we encourage all of our pupils to do more of. Having new books to get stuck into helps to maintain the children’s enthusiasm for reading and we would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their kind donation. We can’t wait to add to our library and share stories with each other.”

Angie Prince, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Midlands, said: “Books are a fantastic way for children to learn about the world around them and to feed their imaginations. We were delighted to offer a donation to Chawson First School and we hope that the vouchers, books and the Taylor Wimpey mini mascot dolls will be enjoyed for years to come.”
