Youngsters in Southmoor will soon be enjoying the benefits of brand new toys and equipment to help make learning fun – thanks to a cash donation from our Oxfordshire team.
We’ve donated £500 to Southmoor Pre-School, a charity-based organisation run by parents, to purchase walkie talkies, rechargeable torches, remote control cars, computer software and audio CDs to accompany rhyming books.
Jackie Taylor, Manager at Southmoor Pre-School, which is near our Southmoor Grange development, says: “We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey very much for their donation – it will make a big difference to the children and their learning experiences.
“We did an audit to see where we were lacking resources across the curriculum and we decided the IT department would really benefit from the money.
“The new equipment will help us to develop a more stimulating learning environment and it will hopefully enrich the children’s education as they learn by playing and exploring here at pre-school.”
Southmoor Pre-School caters for youngsters aged between two and five years old and aims to provide an environment in which each child can develop to their full potential.
Jackie adds: “The majority of our children are from Southmoor so we are very much a village pre-school.
Because we are a charity we rely on fundraising and donations to keep going – so we really do appreciate Taylor Wimpey’s generosity.”
Nikki Gibson, Associate Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, says: “As a local housebuilder we are committed to supporting the local communities in which we build our new homes and we’re delighted that our donation will help the children at Southmoor Pre-School in their educational development.”
