A Leicestershire youth rugby team are looking the part on tour after receiving a £400 sponsorship boost from our East Midlands team. The club’s under 14’s team used the sponsorship donation towards 17 slick, sky blue hoodies for their March 2019 tour in Skegness.

Syston Rugby Club was founded in 1887 as a small, local team on the northern side of Leicester. Today, the club has 11 competing teams with players from ages six to sixty.

Commenting on the support received from our East Midlands team, Chris Stevens, head coach at Syston Rugby Club, said: “The tour has been a great experience for all of the boys who took part. Taking the under 14’s to Skegness has brought them closer together - both on and off the rugby field.

“We can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their generosity. The funding of new team hoodies has made a great addition to the whole ‘going on tour’ aspect and this definitely has helped our under 14’s team feel like part of the club!”

Rob Curry, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Midlands, added: “Syston Rugby Club does an excellent job representing the community within Leicester. The hard work they put in shows their nature and exactly what they are about, so we were more than delighted to be able to fund the team’s tour hoodies to support their tour in Skegness!”
