We supported Great Wakering Parish Council with a donation towards the village’s public toilets. Our East London team put £500 towards the running costs of the essential local amenity as part of its commitment to giving back to local communities.
When Great Wakering Parish Council agreed to take over the management of the public toilets from Rochford District Council, the building in the High Street was in dire need of refurbishment and maintenance. Ensuring that the residents of Great Wakering have access to local amenities is a key priority to the Parish Council, with the toilets re-opening in September 2019.
Councillor Trevor Goodwin, Chairman of Great Wakering Parish Council, said: “It’s really great to see large companies such as Taylor Wimpey get so involved in local causes near to where they build new homes. As a Parish Council it is important that we help provide high quality services to the community wherever we can, and ensuring the public toilets remain open has been a key project with the Parish Council taking over the management and cleaning responsibilities. The £500 donation was a fantastic boost to our funds and we’re delighted that the toilets are once again open for people to use.”
Michael O’Leary, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East London, said: “The work that we do goes beyond simply building great quality homes. We’re also committed to giving back to the communities near to where those homes are built. Public toilets are a facility that every village should have access to, and we’re so pleased that we’ve been able to contribute towards such an important amenity within Great Wakering.”
