We support local advocacy group for adults with Down syndrome

Date: Thursday 16 July 2020

Our South Thames team have donated £250 to The Down’s Syndrome Association to support its Down2Earth initiative.

The Down’s Syndrome Association aims to help people with Down’s syndrome to live full and rewarding lives. The donation will support downsyndromeOK, a local group based in Worcester Park and the charity’s Having a Voice project, run by the Down2Earth group.

Sharon Gordon-Roberts, Fundraising Director at the Down's Syndrome Association, said: “The Down2Earth group is really important to the charity as the project gives people with Down’s syndrome a platform to have their say and help improve the service for people in similar situations.

“We are very thankful to Taylor Wimpey for their generosity. We don’t get any funding for our core services and without the support of local businesses, we wouldn’t be able to continue to deliver our vital services to local people with Down’s syndrome.”

Mary O’Brien, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, says, “We are proud to give back to the local areas in which we build. We are pleased to see that our donation to the Down's Syndrome Association will go towards helping those who need it most.”
