Our South Thames and West London teams have joined together to donate £1,000 to the special baby care unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
The hospital, located just outside of Guildford, has launched a Closer to Care appeal to raise funds to help bring families closer to care for their premature or sick babies. The money raised will go towards providing vital overnight accommodation for parents as well as a family room at the hospital which will offer much needed privacy and a space to spend time together.
Rachel Mason, Corporate Fundraising Manager at the Royal Surrey County Hospital Charity, said: “It’s a worrying time for parents of a premature or sick baby and we want to do all we can to offer the very best care and support. We see a huge benefit to both babies and their parents when they are able to stay together day and night and we hope that offering overnight accommodation for parents will enhance bonding and provide further comfort for families. We’ve been overwhelmed with the support we’ve received and we’re extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their donation.”
Gemma Bibby, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “As soon as we heard about the hospital’s Closer to Care appeal, we knew we wanted to support it. We hope our donation goes some way towards helping the hospital to continue their vital services.”
Mary O’Brien, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, adds: “It’s always a pleasure to support the communities where we build. The team at Royal Surrey County Hospital provide invaluable care and support to premature babies and their families and it was our pleasure to make a donation. From all of us at Taylor Wimpey, thank you for the amazing work that you do.”
