We support students in Llanelli with donation of educational tool

We are proud to have recently supported local students at Coleg Sir Gar, Ammanford Campus by donating a model of our Parc y Strade housing development. The intricate model will act as an educational tool for lecturers and students, to help aid their learning.

Coleg Sir Gar offers schools vocational provision, adult and community learning, higher education and work based learning with currently over 10,000 students across its five campuses. The donated development model will aid the delivery of L3 Technical qualifications for the Higher Education Construction Management and Technology programme. The course includes a range of modules such as Planning, Architectural Design, Construction Technology, Site Management and Health and Safety.

Commenting on the donation from Taylor Wimpey South Wales, Darly Thomas, Curriculum Area Head: Built Environment said: “We are extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their donation of the Parc y Strade development model. The development model is a great educational tool for our students and will really help them visualise a housing development during scenario based activities and assignments during future academic years.”

Sara Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: “The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes and it means a great deal to us to be able to work with educational institutions that surround our developments such as Coleg Sir Gar. We hope that the students and lecturers will be able to use the development model for years to come and we may even see some of the students working for Taylor Wimpey in the future.”
