We support world class Welsh dancers for third year running

Date: Thursday 27 August 2020

Our South Wales team has sponsored the Nicola Peros Ballet School, based in Barry, for the third consecutive year, with a boost of £1000.

The donation has been put towards new Team Wales tracksuits, to ensure the dancers look their best at the prestigious, international Dance World Cup (DWC) tournament.

Each year, over 12,000 dancers world-wide attempt to qualify for the final tournament, which is held annually in a different country. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's DWC in Italy, has been postponed to 2021.

Nicola Peros, founder and principal at the Nicola Peros Ballet School, said: “It is a special moment when our dancers put on their Team Wales tracksuits. Competing on a world stage is an incredible experience and the DWC is a highlight tournament for my pupils, who spend months perfecting their routines.

“We are so grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s continued support, the new kits are absolutely stunning and our dancers can’t wait to wear them at the 2021 DWC.“

Naoka Koto, parent of one of the dance pupils, adds: “It’s my daughter's third DWC wearing the Team Wales tracksuit, sponsored by Taylor Wimpey. Our children love competing at this prestigious tournament and they’re thrilled with the new kits!”

Sara Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: “We are delighted to offer our continued support to the Nicola Peros Ballet School. Nicola has had such a positive influence on dancers of all ages from Barry and Cardiff for many years. We wish the team great success in the DWC tournament and beyond.”
