Our West London team has sponsored the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon organised by The Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside, that took place on Sunday 8th September.
The full trail marathon covered 26.2 miles and saw runners pass four churches, manor houses, rivers and farm animals within the stunning backdrop of the Surrey Hills. In the 10th year of the marathon taking place, the organisers planned a slight twist to the trail; it went the opposite way.
Our donation of £750 to the The Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside helped towards the running costs for the event. With a half marathon and family walk route also available, each member of the family was able to take part. Those attending could also enjoy a bacon sandwich and hot drink, while those taking part indulged in a professional massage after the trail.
Lynda Pattie, Event Coordinator of Farnham Pilgrim Marathon, said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey West London for their sponsorship of the marathon. Farnham Pilgrim Marathon (or Half Marathon) is possibly one of the prettiest trail events in the UK and also one of the hardest. The event could not happen without the support of local businesses and organisations. I would also like to thank the members of the Rotary Club of Farnham Weyside, especially all our volunteer marshalls, for their help towards the event. This year’s marathon was another great success with more than 800 people taking part and we would like to congratulate each and every one of them.”
Gemma Bibby, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey West London, said: “We’re committed to making a positive contribution in the communities in which we build. Taylor Wimpey West London is delighted to have sponsored the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon and we’re proud to contribute towards days that bring the community together and active in the area.”
