We were delighted to welcome 12 pupils from Wellfield Middle School on a trip to our West Park development in West Monkseaton, to educate them all about the housebuilding process.
Year eight pupils from the Whitley Bay-based school visited our development for a site induction and an engaging lesson on the building process. Students also had the opportunity to lay bricks before being quizzed on what they had learned during the trip.
Simon Richardson, coordinator of foundation subjects at Wellfield Middle School, says: “We’d like to thank Taylor Wimpey for providing our pupils with a fantastic opportunity, allowing them to learn in a practical way about the building process in a non-classroom environment.
“The trip enabled them to explore the nearby housing development with educational and fun activities, which were also closely linked with our existing curriculum.”
Karl Morton, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North East, says: “As a sustainable housebuilder, we actively seek to involve the communities where we’re building properties, so it was great to be able to educate the next generation at West Park.
“We hope the pupils enjoyed what was an excellent morning and we look forward to welcoming many more schools to our developments for educational trips.”
West Park offers a variety of beautiful four and five-bedroom homes.
