We were delighted to welcome members from a George Wimpey Pensioners’ Club on site at one of our developments in Manchester to see how things have changed since they hung up their hard hats and high-vis jackets.

Gerry Cunningham, secretary of the Pensioners’ Club, Stewart Longworth and Bob Williamson were among the visitors to our Pennington Wharf development in Leigh where they spent time with Mark Mainwaring, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, sharing stories from their time on construction sites.

Mark Mainwaring comments: “It was fantastic to have some of the old gang back in hard hats for the day and to see for themselves how things have changed since they worked with us.

“Lots of people from the George Wimpey days get together on a regular basis and when we heard about the meetings we wanted to extend the invitation to join us on one of our new developments for a real builders’ brew.

“Everybody had a great time reminiscing, and we even had a couple of offers from the guys to get back out there working on the development!”

Pennington Wharf currently offers a range of beautiful three and four-bedroom houses.
